Finding your Passion, Purpose and Peak Performance with Culture

Culture is defined as how we get results.

  • Do you have individual culture principles that define how you get results, fuels your passion,

confirms your purpose and unlocks your full potential?

  • I use the tools below to check my attitude and hold myself accountable with “ I will statements†to

self assess and determine mitigation steps when things get out of balance.

  • These 4 practices have been my go to’s. I rely on them now more than ever as I start my new journey.

1) Be Here Now – I will be mindful so my mind is not so full.

  • How can I better manage a busy mind?
  • Where are my distractions?
  • Am I engaged and invested in conversations?

Best Practice – Be intentional, separate work time from family time. Sit down as a family for dinner and

turn off the cell phones. Use nightly dog walks (when it’s not 100 outside :>) to catch up on daily events.

2)Assume Positive Intent – I will assume positive intent.

  • Am I taking time to truly understand?
  • Am I aware of how I perceive people, event, or situations?
  • Do I know my blind spots?

Best Practice – Maintain accountability. Taking time to understand a person’s reasons does not mean that

unacceptable behavior can be accepted. Examples are missed deadlines or no show/no heads up for missed

appointments.

3) Where am I on the Mood Elevator? – I will get to Curious.

  • Grateful
  • Wise
  • Compassionate
  • Creative
  • Optimistic
  • Appreciative
  • Understanding
  • CURIOUS
  • Frustrated
  • Irritated
  • Anxious
  • Defensive
  • Judgmental
  • Depressed

Best Practice – Give yourself GRACE. We all have good and bad days. Trick is to understand when you

are low on the Mood Meter and be intentional in adjusting your attitude. Counting to 10 and remembering

to breath really does work!

4) Accountability Ladder – I will take accountability

Make Things Happen

  • Get on with it
  • Find Solutions
  • Own It
  • Acknowledge Reality

Nothing Changes

  • Wait and hope
  • Excuses
  • Blame others
  • Unaware

Best Practice – Control what you can Control. I love the saying “Life is what it is, not always what we

think is should be.” Be aware when you are running into a wall and take steps to either fix it or move on!
